I use Zoom as a platform for online lessons, as it has great sound for music. This means I can teach you no matter where you are in the world. The app can be downloaded on smartphone, tablet or laptop and is really easy to use.
I teach people to sing and play in a healthy and holistic way, with good musicianship and good humour. I am happy to prepare students for graded music exams with either the Associated Board of the Royal Schools of Music (ABRSM), or Trinity College London. I teach piano up to Grade 5 and singing to professional level.
As well as regular weekly or fortnightly piano and singing lessons, I also offer short courses in general musicianship, sight-reading, aural perception, and audition preparation and technique.
I also organise optional termly virtual student performances through YouTube to a specially invited audience of family and friends. I find that these performances are important building blocks, and that the students are often inspired by each other.
During your free consultation I will make sure you have the optimal audio settings set up on Zoom for the lesson, and then we will discuss your musical goals and how we can work together towards achieving them. It is also an opportunity for me to hear you play or sing, and for you to ask me any questions you may have.
